Job summary

ESS Employment Ltd in Stroud, Gloucestershire, is hiring for an X 4 CNC Operator – Night Shift. The role runs CNC machines in the CNC Cell, with night shift hours 10pm–5am Mon-Thu and Fri 5pm to 10:30pm, 37.5 hours per week.

Starting immediately, a salary of £13.45 per hour plus a shift allowance of £9,620 (£18.38 per hour) applies for this permanent on-site position. Basic CNC programming and reading engineering drawings are required, with emphasis on quality and safety.

Qualifications

• GCSEs or equivalent or related training/experience.
• Basic CNC programming and machine competence.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Operate one or more CNC machines in the cell.
• Maintain daily machine health check list.
• Handle traveler bookings and documents in the cell.
• Stamp own work and report NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports).
• Assist with other duties as directed by the Production Team Leader.
• Maintain a safe and tidy work environment and participate in training.
• Minimise scrap components and mentor new staff or apprentices.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and quality control to meet design specs.
