Job summary

Unknown Heavy Engineering is seeking a highly skilled CNC Elgamill Setter/Operator/Programmer for the night shift. You will set up, program, and run a CNC Elgamill machining centre, interpreting engineering drawings and ensuring parts meet exact specifications.

Experience with Fanuc controls and offline programming (CIMCO CAD/CAM or Autodesk Fusion) is highly valued. The role involves heavy fabrication work, large castings, and overtime on demand.

Qualifications

• Experience setting, operating and programming CNC milling machines.
• Strong knowledge of Fanuc control systems.
• Ability to program directly from engineering drawings.
• Experience machining medium to large engineering components in heavy engineering.
• Experience with large fabrications and castings.
• Solid understanding of tooling, feeds, speeds and tolerances.
• Ability to inspect own work with manual measuring equipment.
• Experience using CIMCO CAD/CAM or Autodesk Fusion for offline programming is advantageous.
• Willingness to work overtime when required.

Responsibilities

• Setting, operating, and programming a CNC Elgamill machining centre.
• Programming directly from drawings using Fanuc controls.
• Produce medium to heavy engineering components to customer specifications.
• Machining large fabrications, castings, and complex components.
• Select tooling, workholding, cutting conditions, and machining strategies.
• Use CIMCO CAD/CAM or Autodesk Fusion for offline programming where appropriate.
• Carry out first-off and in-process inspections with manual measuring equipment.
• Ensure components meet tolerances and quality standards.
• Maintain a safe, organised, and efficient working environment.
• Support production requirements and assist with overtime when needed.
