Job summary

DPD Group is seeking a reliable Class 1 Shunter Driver to manage night-time yard operations in Leeds. You will act as the conductor of our logistical flow, ensuring precise movements and adherence to safety standards within a fast-paced environment.

You will log trailer transitions, perform stringent pre-use inspections, and coordinate with warehouse staff to optimize loading bays and departure schedules. Occasional inventory tasks or short-haul local runs may be required to support operations.

Qualifications

• Class 1 LGV Licence (C+E) and current Driver CPC are required.
• Thrives in fast-paced environments and cares about safety and accountability.
• Proactive, physically fit and able to solve problems before they occur.
• Familiar with basic digital logging, not paper-driven processes.

Responsibilities

• Precision maneuvering of trailers and tug units in yard with high accuracy.
• Log trailer transitions using internal management systems and perform pre-use inspections.
• Act as the link between warehouse and fleet drivers to maintain loading and departure schedules.
• Assist with inventory tasks or short-haul local runs during peak periods.
