Yew Trees Care Home in Dukinfield is seeking a Senior Care Assistant to join a caring team on night shifts. You will guide staff, oversee medication administration, and ensure high standards of person-centred care for residents with dementia.

You will maintain care records, communicate with families and healthcare professionals, and support colleagues to deliver safe, compassionate care during night duties. Training and development opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• SVQ/NVQ Level 2 Health & Social Care is the minimum requirement.
• Level 3 desirable or willingness to work towards is preferred.
• Medication administration training with competency is essential.

Yew Trees Care Home is a warm and welcoming care home located in a peaceful residential area of Dukinfield, Tameside, Greater Manchester, providing specialist residential dementia care. With comfortable living spaces, inviting lounges, a lovely garden and a peaceful courtyard, the home offers a friendly and homely atmosphere. Senior Care Assistant Contract

• Contracted to 22 hours per week
• Paid [PVG/DBS], pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)
• This vacancy is for night shifts

Role Overview

As Senior Care Assistant, you will guide and support your team in delivering safe, high quality, person centred care that makes a real difference every day to our residents.

You will take responsibility for the smooth running of your shift, ensuring care is well organised, consistent and delivered to a high standard. Alongside providing hands on care, you will oversee medication, monitor residents’ wellbeing and respond to any changes, ensuring care remains safe and appropriate.

You will maintain accurate care records and work closely with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals to ensure clear communication and continuity of care.

We Are Looking For

• [SVQ/NVQ] Level 2 in Health & Social Care (minimum), with Level 3 desirable or willingness to work towards
• Medication administration training with competency is essential
• Experience supporting or leading a care team is beneficial
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• A caring, compassionate and professional approach
