Job summary

Unite Students in Liverpool South is seeking a Safety Team Member to patrol, assist and support students during night shifts from 10pm to 7am. You will join a night team, ensuring safety and comfort across our student accommodation and handling handovers with the day and night teams.

The role emphasizes staying calm under pressure, creating a welcoming atmosphere, and acting with empathy while responding to incidents, emails, and welfare concerns on a nightly basis.

Responsibilities

• Be a friendly face and first point of contact for students who need support or reassurance overnight.
• Keep buildings and everyone in them safe, responding calmly to incidents or emergencies such as fire alarms, noise complaints, or maintenance issues.
• Help students feel welcome, respected, and cared for - always treating everyone with empathy and professionalism.
• Work closely with day and night teams to ensure seamless service and handovers.
• Take pride in maintaining tidy, safe, and well-kept spaces.
• Support with wellbeing or welfare matters, noticing when something isn't right and taking action to help.
