Job summary

Young Foundations is seeking a Night Residential Practitioner to provide overnight care for young people with complex needs at Binley Woods. You will safeguard welfare, perform welfare and safety checks, and maintain accurate records during night shifts.

You will also support care plans, risk assessments and collaboration with families and external professionals. The role requires flexibility for waking nights and daytime training.

Qualifications

• Understanding developmental needs of young people.
• Knowledge of child protection procedures and safeguarding.
• Ability to motivate self and others to meet time and performance goals.
• Flexibility to work waking nights, weekends and bank holidays.
• Good interpersonal skills with young people and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide overnight supervision, care and support to young people aged 8-18 in a registered home.
• Safeguard and promote welfare of all young people at all times.
• Conduct regular welfare, health and safety, and security checks during the night.
• Respond to emotional, behavioural and practical support needs during waking night shifts.
• Maintain accurate records and handovers in line with policies.
• Support implementation of care plans, risk assessments and behaviour strategies.
• Work with families and external professionals to achieve positive outcomes.
• Complete cleaning and household tasks to keep the home clean and welcoming.
• Support young people with independence, routines and life skills.
