Job summary

Young Foundations in Binley Woods is seeking a dedicated Residential Practitioner to support children and young people (ages 16–25) with complex needs, including mental health challenges. You will work within a team to respond to assessed care, education and health plans, ensuring safety and safeguarding at all times.

Qualifications

• Understanding developmental needs of young people (physical, emotional, intellectual, social, educational).
• Knowledge of child protection issues and safeguarding procedures.
• Ability to work within a team and demonstrate sensitivity.
• Ability to motivate self and others to meet time and performance goals.
• Ability to cope with emotional stress and demanding situations.
• Flexibility in duties and hours.
• Strong interpersonal skills with young people and staff.

Responsibilities

• Respond to and meet identified needs of young people as outlined in care plans.
• Work in partnership with young people, families, social workers and agencies.
• Ensure work adheres to legislation, policies and safeguarding requirements.
• Prioritise safety and welfare of young people at all times.
• Participate in planning meetings and reviews for care/health/education plans.
• Understand relevant legislation and guidance related to safeguarding.
