Job summary

John Lewis Partnership, Waitrose Crowborough, is hiring a Supermarket Assistant to support excellent customer service in a busy store. You will stock shelves, fulfill online orders and assist the team while maintaining a safe, clean shop floor.

The role is part-time (25 hours) with varied shifts including nights (20:00–07:00). Pay is £13.00 per hour rising to £13.25 after 90 days; applicants must be 18+ and DBS checks may be required.

Qualifications

• Essential communication skills to work effectively as part of a team.
• Experience in a customer facing role is welcomed.
• Up to date knowledge and strong interest in food and drink trends.
• Flexible approach to ensure the support of the whole branch.

Responsibilities

• Stock replenishment - ensuring shelves are full and correctly placed.
• Fulfilling online customer orders for drivers to deliver to doors.
• Reducing wastage by following product due diligence and markdowns.
• Working with the wider shop team including checkout support and Click & Collect.
• Maintain a safe and tidy working environment.
