Job summary

The Grand Hotel Birmingham, part of De Vere, is seeking a Night Receptionist for a part-time role of 20 hours per week across two nights. Typical shifts run 8.00pm–6.30am or 10.00pm–8.00am, with flexibility to cover overnight hours.

Qualifications

• Previous customer service experience, ideally within hospitality or a guest-facing environment.
• Clear and confident communication with a warm, friendly manner.
• Ability to stay calm, organised and solutions-focused while handling multiple guest requests.

Responsibilities

• Provide a warm, professional welcome and check guests in and out efficiently.
• Respond confidently to guest enquiries and offer recommendations about the hotel and local area.
• Resolve guest requests and concerns with empathy and attention to detail.
• Deliver overnight room service and support other departments with late-night operations and functions.
• Help maintain a safe and secure environment for guests and colleagues during the night.
