Job summary

Mercure White Hart Salisbury is seeking a dedicated Night Porter to welcome guests and ensure their comfort during the night shift. You will help run the hotel at night, support other departments, and handle end-of-day safety checks.

You will work autonomously, manage guest relations, and follow PMS procedures to keep the hotel safe and ready for the next day. Previous night porter or hotel host experience is desirable, with a strong focus on service and safety.

• Previous night porter or hotel host experience is desirable.
• Customer service experience and working with the public is desirable.
• Ability to work alone throughout the night.
• Ability to work well under pressure.
• Ability to use initiative and follow written/verbal instructions.
• Knowledge of food safety & hygiene.
• Knowledge of general health & safety procedures.

As our next Night Porter, you…

Are the ‘face of the Mercure White Hart Salisbury’, extending a warm welcome to our guests during the night, putting their well-being at the heart of everything you do, while adding your personal touch to their stay.

Assist in the general running of the hotel at night and support other departments to set up for the next day.

Are an autonomous and passionate individual, dedicated to continuously improving the quality of the hotel's services.

Undertake PMS end of day procedures and hotel safety checks to make sure everyone in our hotel is safe and looked after.

You should be confident in all aspects of guest relations, receiving and recognising all guests including those who require special attention.

Qualifications

• Previous night porter experience or hotel host experience (desirable)


• Customer service experience and working with the public(desirable)


• Ability to work alone throughout the night


• Ability to work well under pressure


• Ability to use your initiative and to follow written / verbal instructions


• Knowledge of food safety & hygiene


• Knowledge of general health & safety procedures
