Job summary

Champneys in Buxton, England, seeks a Night Porter to support overnight Front of House operations, delivering excellent guest service while maintaining safety, security and presentation standards across the property.

You will work closely with the Night Manager, handling arrivals, guest requests, security checks and night-time administration to ensure guests are comfortable and the resort is ready for the following day.

Qualifications

• Reliable, responsible and calm.
• Comfortable working night shifts independently.
• Strong customer-service mindset and communication.
• Good attention to detail around safety and security.
• Physically able to carry out patrols and light manual tasks.
• Hospitality or security experience is helpful but not essential — full training provided.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, professional service to guests overnight.
• Assist with check-ins, check-outs and enquiries.
• Conduct security and safety patrols around the property.
• Keep guest-facing areas clean, tidy and presentable.
• Handle phone calls, wake-up calls and taxi bookings.
• Support luggage movements and guest requests as needed.
• Carry out night audit tasks and basic administrative duties.
• Process payments and maintain accurate cash handling.
• Liaise with Housekeeping and other departments for smooth handovers.
• Report maintenance, safety or security issues promptly.
• Ensure fire exits and public areas are clear and compliant.
• Prepare the property for the morning team.
