Job summary

RBH Hospitality Management in Glasgow is seeking a vigilant Night Porter to join our hotel team. You will be responsible for guest comfort, bar service late evenings, and ensuring safety throughout the night.

This role runs on a 4 on, 4 off rota from 23:00 to 07:00. You’ll also help with early breakfasts, cleaning duties and handovers to the day team, working closely with front desk and housekeeping to maintain our high standards.

Qualifications

• Previous hospitality experience.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Good communication, guest enquiries handling.
• Basic IT skills and PMS familiarity.
• Willingness to work night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Overnight bar duties and guest experience.
• Prepare breakfast for early risers.
• General cleaning responsibilities.
• Conduct security checks and handover with day team.
• Manage overnight emergencies and coordinate with departments.

AN EVENING IN THE LIFE OF NIGHT PORTER AT OUR HOTEL

What you'll be doing...

• Working on a late bar, ensuring our guests are having a great time

Cooking a great breakfast ready for our early risers

General cleaning duties

• Conduct regular security checks throughout the hotel premises to ensure guest and property safety
• Collaborate with the front office and accounting teams to address any issues identified during the night
• Maintain clear communication with the day team by preparing handover notes and ensuring all relevant information is recorded
• Handle any emergency situations overnight, acting as the point of contact and coordinating with necessary departments This job is a 4 on and 4 off rota 2300 - 0700

What We Need From You

• Previous experience in hospitality
• Strong attention to detail
• Good communication skills and the ability to handle guest enquiries professionally
• Basic IT skills and familiarity with property management systems (PMS)
• Flexibility to work night shifts and the ability to remain focused and productive
