Job summary

RBH Hospitality Management in Glasgow is seeking a Night Porter to join our team. You will work the night shift on a 4 on, 4 off rota (23:00–07:00), ensuring guest comfort and security, preparing breakfasts, and coordinating with day teams. The role requires hospitality experience, good communication, and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Hospitality experience is essential.
• Strong attention to detail required.
• Excellent communication with guests and colleagues.
• Basic IT skills and familiarity with property management systems (PMS).
• Willingness to work night shifts and stay focused during overnight hours.

Responsibilities

• Working on a late bar, ensuring guests are having a great time.
• Preparing a great breakfast for early risers.
• General cleaning duties.
• Conduct regular security checks during the night for guest and property safety.
• Collaborate with front office and accounting teams to address issues identified overnight.
• Maintain clear handover notes and record relevant information for the day team.
• Handle emergencies overnight as the point of contact with necessary departments.
• Rotational pattern: 4 on, 4 off, 23:00–07:00.

AN EVENING IN THE LIFE OF NIGHT PORTER AT OUR HOTEL

What you'll be doing...

• Working on a late bar, ensuring our guests are having a great time
• Cooking a great breakfast ready for our early risers
• General cleaning duties
• Conduct regular security checks throughout the hotel premises to ensure guest and property safety
• Collaborate with the front office and accounting teams to address any issues identified during the night
• Maintain clear communication with the day team by preparing handover notes and ensuring all relevant information is recorded
• Handle any emergency situations overnight, acting as the point of contact and coordinating with necessary departments
• This job is a 4 on and 4 off rota 2300 - 0700

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

• Previous experience in hospitality
• Strong attention to detail
• Good communication skills and the ability to handle guest enquiries professionally
• Basic IT skills and familiarity with property management systems (PMS)
• Flexibility to work night shifts and the ability to remain focused and productive
