Job summary

Thornbury Community Services is seeking a Community Nurse for Complex Care in the Plymouth area. You will work nights in a 1:1 capacity with a teenage male client, focusing on ensuring safety, supporting families, and facilitating independence at home and within the community.

The role requires experience in UK complex care, comfort with managing epilepsy, and the ability to work in a home setting that may include dogs. A driving license is recommended due to remote location.

Qualifications

• Compassionate and resilient attitude essential for complex pediatric care.
• Experience in UK complex care, minimum 6 months in the last 2 years.
• Skilled in ventilation via mask (CPAP), gastrostomy care, and epilepsy/seizure management.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 night shifts with families to ensure safety and well-being.
• Build trust with families and create safe home environments for children.
• Empower children to learn new skills and participate in activities at home and in the community.
