Job summary

Practice Plus Group is seeking a Night Lead for HMP Bullingdon in Bicester, Oxford. You will provide overnight leadership, ensuring safe, high-quality care in a category B prison, with strategic supervision and team development.

The role requires 37.5 hours on night shifts (7pm–7am), 7 nights on, 7 off, and some day shifts. Benefits include induction, career development, and strong peer support.

Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent level of experience or clinical qualification - Registered Nurse (Adult/General).
  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Experience in CQC or HMIP registered services.
  • Experience developing effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Understanding of clinical governance.
  • Knowledge of healthcare policies and best practice.

Responsibilities

  • Line management of 3, providing leadership and coordination for the night team.
  • Act as Senior Clinician during the shift, single point of contact with HMPPS.
  • Deliver compassionate, high-quality care in a safe, non-judgemental manner aligned with CQC requirements.
  • Inspire the team and Integrated care colleagues to deliver high-quality interventions.
  • Promote best practice across pathways and support clinical supervision and continuous quality improvement.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Night Lead to join team at HMP Bullingdon, a category B Prison located in Bicester, Oxford.

To provide leadership and support to colleagues working overnight, and will rotate onto 2 days per month for your own supervision and team building.

Hours

37.5 hours working full time nights, 7pm-7am, working 7 nights on followed by 7 days off with 1-2 day shifts a month, 7am-5pm. This will cover 2 weekends a month.

Salary

This position is full time, you’ll receive an annual salary up to £54,397 per annum- depending on experience.

What you'll be doing
  • Line management of 3, providing leadership and co-ordination for the team working with you throughout the night
  • Acting as the Senior Clinician throughout the shift being the single point of contact with HMPPS working in partnership to meet the health care needs of the patients within our care.
  • Deliver non-judgemental, compassionate care within the prison that is safe, high quality and in line with CQC requirements. This will be achieved through adherence to policies and procedures and compliance with statutory responsibilities whilst driving excellence.
  • Inspire your team and the wider Integrated team to deliver high quality care and effective interventions to patients within the prison.
  • Promote best practice across both the Early Days in Custody and Unscheduled Care integrated pathways. Promote Best practice, clinical supervision, evidence-based care and continuous quality improvement embedding a culture of shared learning
