Job summary

Practice Plus Group - Health in Justice is seeking a Night Nurse to join the Primary Care Team at HMP Hewell in Worcestershire. This full-time role supports a nurse-led service in a secure environment and involves night shifts with reception screening and clinical duties.

Based in a category B remand prison, you will work within healthcare, wings, and reception, delivering patient-centred care and contributing to ongoing quality improvement.

Qualifications

• Registered nurse with current NMC registration is required.
• Evidence of continued professional development is required.
• Understanding of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working.
• Non-judgmental and compassionate approach is essential.
• Excellent communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nurse-led services within a multi-disciplinary team to prevent hospital admissions.
• Undertake medication rounds, dispense controlled medication, respond to emergencies, assess patients.
• Run nurse-led clinics and provide patient-focused care with team support.
• Provide evidence-based care, listen to and act on patient feedback to personalise care.
• Deliver non-judgemental care that makes a real difference.
• Forge strong links with partners and stakeholders to inspire excellence.
• Promote best practice, supervision, and continuous quality improvement.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Night Nurseto join our Primary Care Team at HMP Hewell which is a category B remand prison based in the village of Tardebigge in Worcestershire.

HMP Hewell is a male prison with a capacity of 1200 males. As a Night Nurse you will be based within the healthcare department, prison wings and reception based.

Hours

• Monday - Sunday service
• 37.5 hours per week
• 7.30pm - 7.15am NIGHTS
• Days shifts to be covered for service needs

Salary

This position isfulltime,youll receive an annual salary between £34,428to £41,659per annum- depending on experience.

Main duties of the job

• Work within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver a nurse led service and prevent hospital admissions
• Undertake medication rounds, dispense controlled medication, attend emergency response situations, assess patients, and undertake reception screening
• Use your skills and knowledge to deliver nurse led clinics to your patient group whilst being supported by a multi-disciplinary team.
• Provide outstanding evidence based care to our patients, seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback, so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
• Deliver non-judgemental care that makes a real difference
• Inspire excellence by forging strong links with our partners and stakeholders
• Promote best practice, clinical supervision, evidence based care and continuous quality improvement, embedding a culture of shared learning.
