Job summary

Pertemps Leicester Industrial is recruiting for an HGV Shunter Driver at East Midlands Gateway. Full-time, 4 on / 4 off nights, moving trailers safely and supporting yard operations to keep freight moving. You will perform safety checks and coordinate with transport and warehouse teams.

Applicants must have proven HGV shunting experience, a valid licence, and the ability to work unsupervised through the night with reliability and professionalism.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence.
• Previous shunting experience preferred.
• Good understanding of HGV and yard safety.
• Reliable, punctual and professional.
• Good communication skills.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Safety-conscious attitude.

Responsibilities

• Safely shunt trailers around the East Midlands Gateway site.
• Move and position trailers in designated areas and loading bays.
• Carry out daily vehicle and trailer safety checks.
• Follow all site health & safety procedures.
• Work closely with the transport and warehouse teams.
• Maintain a safe and organised yard environment.
• Complete required paperwork and vehicle checks.
• Adhere to company and site procedures at all times.
