Job summary

Pertemps Leicester is hiring an HGV Shunter Driver for the East Midlands Gateway. This full-time role offers a 4 on / 4 off shift pattern. The driver will move trailers around the site, perform safety checks, and ensure yard efficiency.

The position requires a valid HGV Class 1 licence, reliability, good communication, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Competitive hourly pay applies.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence.
• Previous shunting experience preferred.
• Good understanding of HGV and yard safety.
• Reliable, punctual and professional.
• Good communication skills.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Safely shunt trailers around the East Midlands Gateway site.
• Move and position trailers in designated areas and loading bays.
• Carry out daily vehicle and trailer safety checks.
• Follow all site health & safety procedures.
• Work closely with the transport and warehouse teams.
• Maintain a safe and organised yard environment.
• Complete required paperwork and vehicle checks.
• Adhere to company and site procedures at all times.
