Job summary

Sandstone Care Group’s Birkdale Tower Care Home in Southampton is seeking a dedicated Health Care Assistant for night shifts to support residents from 8pm to 8am. You will assist with personal care, mobility, and daily living needs while providing companionship and ensuring a safe, comfortable night environment.

The role emphasizes dignity, respect and a person-centred approach, with opportunities for training, development and flexible pay options.

Qualifications

Previous care experience is desirable but not essential.
Compassionate, patient and genuinely motivated to help others.
Reliable, committed and a strong team player.
Confident supporting residents with dignity and respect.
A natural night owl who thrives in a night-working environment and can remain alert and responsive throughout the night.

Responsibilities

Support residents with personal care, mobility and daily living needs.
Provide companionship and emotional support.
Complete night checks and help ensure residents remain safe and comfortable throughout the night.
Monitor residents' wellbeing and report any concerns.
Maintain accurate care records and handovers.
Promote dignity, independence and choice.
Work closely with colleagues to deliver outstanding care.
