Job summary

Cranswick Country Foods is seeking a Night Shift Engineer for their Eye site. The role is on-site with a 4-on/4-off pattern, 17:30–05:30, delivering reliable maintenance to maximise production uptime in an FMCG environment.

You will apply mechanical and electrical engineering skills, perform PPMs, react to breakdowns, and participate in safety and quality processes. Competitive benefits accompany the permanent role.

Qualifications

• Experience in engineering, ideally in an FMCG environment.
• A mixture of mechanical and electrical engineering skills and experience.
• Group and site induction, Reviewing of relevant risk assessments and safe working procedures
• Understanding and application of hazard identification and near miss reporting
• Accident investigation training, Root cause analysis training
• Level 3 H&S awareness
• Understanding and application of Line safety inspections
• Minimum qualification in NVQ Level 3 Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical or multiskilled)

Responsibilities

• Safely carry out all tasks set to you by the engineering management.
• Share your knowledge and learn from the rest of the team; ensure PPMs, maintenance, breakdowns and all work are carried out in a timely, safe manner to maximise uptime.
• Assist the shift manager in developing specifications, work instructions and procedures for staff; assist with control of workshop spares.
• Maintain Good Manufacturing Practice and complete all auditable paperwork and maintenance orders accurately.
• Demonstrate a proactive approach to maintenance and assist in developing preventative maintenance mechanisms.
• Ensure effective communications between cross-functional teams and smooth handovers; support a quality culture and address quality issues proactively.
• Create and review method statements and risk assessments; develop and implement quality maintenance routines.

Job requirements of Night Shift Engineer:

Duties

• Safely carry out all tasks set to you by the engineering management
• Share your knowledge and learn from the rest of the team, Ensure PPMs, maintenance, breakdowns and all work is carried out in a timely safe manner ensuring production is at a maximum uptime, and recorded
• Assist the shift manager in developing specifications, work instructions and procedures for staff , Assist the shift manager with the control of workshop spares
• Maintain Good Manufacturing Practice in all work carried out ensuring all planned and unplanned maintenance work orders assigned to you are completed, complete all auditable paperwork required and ensure it is completed accurately
• Demonstrate a proactive approach to maintenance and assist in the development of preventative maintenance mechanisms
• Effective communications between cross functional teams and successful shift handovers, support a quality culture and have a proactive approach to quality issue
• Create and review method statements and risk assessments, development and implementation of quality effective maintenance routines
