Job summary
Cranswick Country Foods Fresh Poultry in Eye, Suffolk is seeking a Yard Operative to join the Despatch team. The role focuses on forklift operations, loading/unloading, and daily equipment checks in a busy yard environment.
Working pattern: Monday-Friday, 18:40-03:10. Salary starts at £16.22 per hour with attendance bonus, plus pension and wellbeing benefits. On-site role with free parking and canteen facilities.
Qualifications
- Counterbalance forklift licence is essential.
- Telehandler licence preferred.
- Shunter/HGV licence essential.
Responsibilities
- Operate Counterbalance forklift or other hand truck.
- Operate Telehandler to move and tip dolavs into a trailer.
- Operate Shunter truck to move trailers on/off loading bays and in Offal area.
- Weigh Offal trailers on the weight bridge to maintain trailer fill.
- Record daily checks and trailer lists.
- Follow quality and customer service standards.
- Perform daily equipment counts.
- Unload/load deliveries of pallets, dolavs, trays.
- Inspect and maintain counterbalance, telehandler and shunter.
- Clean as you go and prepare yard for all weather conditions.

Job requirements Forklift Operative:
We are looking for a Forklift operative in our Yard to join our established Despatch team at Cranswick Country Foods Fresh Poultry in Eye, Suffolk. You will be responsible for loading/ unloading, operating machinery and daily equipment counts.
Duties:
Operate Counterbalance forklift or other hand truck
Operate Telehandler to move and tip dolavs into a trailer.
Operate Shunter truck to move trailers on/off the loading bays and in the Offal area
Weighing the Offal (CAT2/CAT3) trailers on the weight bridge to maintain the required trailer fill.
Record the required information on the daily checks (trailer lists / trailer checks)
Follow quality and customer service standards set forth by the company.
Perform daily equipment counts as required.
Unloading / Loading deliveries of the equipment (pallets , dolavs , trays ).
Inspect and perform maintenance of Counterbalance, Telahandler and Shunter (pre-start checks)
Use a compactor and on a regular basis and empty the rubbish bins.
Cleaning as you go, litter picking, pressure washing and preparing the yard for all weather conditions
