Job summary

West London NHS Trust is seeking a Band 6 Senior Community Nurse to join the Hounslow Night District Nursing Team at Clayponds Hospital. The role covers 19:00–07:00 shifts, 11 hours weekly on a six-month fixed-term contract.

Flexibility for service redesign is required as night service hours change in December 2026. You will support the Locality Nursing Team Manager, supervise the team, and lead in a designated area while maintaining high standards of patient care and collaboration with

Qualifications

• Qualified RGN with current NMC registration (Part 1).
• Post-registration study at diploma/degree level and CPD in areas such as palliative care.
• Diploma or BSc (Hons) in Community Health (DN) held or pursued.
• Clinical assessment skills demonstrated in practice.
• Nurse Prescriber V150 (willing to undertake).
• Mentorship or preceptorship experience (willing to undertake).
• Specialist Practice Teacher/Teaching Qualification favored.

Responsibilities

• Support the Community Team Manager with caseload management and holistic assessments.
• Deliver high-quality, autonomous care and clinical leadership in out-of-hours nursing.
• Contribute to training and development within the district nursing team.
• Assist in delivering services to standards and local specifications.
• Provide line management support and succession planning where appropriate.
• Lead a nursing practice area and mentor less experienced staff.
