Job summary

The Orders of St John Care Trust is seeking a Night Care Assistant for Westgate House Care Home in Wallingford. You will support residents with daily routines and personal care during night shifts (10pm–7am), helping with washing, bathing and toilet use, while fostering dignity and independence.

We value compassionate, reliable people, including those new to care. Induction training and ongoing development are provided, with enhancements for weekend work and NVQ qualifications.

Qualifications

• Experience in care is preferred but not essential.
• Good communication skills and ability to build relationships.
• Compassionate and respectful approach to residents.

Responsibilities

• Support daily routines and personal care (washing, bathing, toilet use).
• Provide companionship and emotional support to residents.
• Create a respectful, safe and homely environment during night shifts.

Night Care Assistant

Location: Westgate House Care Home, Wallingford, OX10 8FE

Pay rate: £14.85 per hour ( weekend and NVQ enhancements available)

Contracted Hours: Bank

Shift times: 10pm - 7am

We are looking for both experienced carers and those that are new to care to build our teams with diverse people who can bring all sorts of life experience to the job.
