Job summary

Crystal Care Collection is seeking a Night Care Team Leader / Night Deputy Manager to oversee the night care team and ensure residents enjoy safe, peaceful nights. You’ll lead by example, mentor staff, and deliver person-centred care in line with care plans while ensuring regulatory compliance.

The role involves night shift leadership, medication management, and supervising junior carers, with a rota of 8pm–8am, about 42 hours weekly.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent)
• Experience in a Senior Care Assistant, Team Leader or leadership role
• Confident in leading a team and making independent decisions during night shifts
• Experience administering medication and maintaining care documentation

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for the safe and effective running of the home throughout the night, acting as the person in charge outside office hours or in the absence of the General Manager
• Lead, coach and support the night care team, ensuring exceptional person-centred care
• Deliver and oversee high-quality personal care in line with individual care plans, promoting dignity and independence
• Act as a Key Worker for allocated residents, ensuring care plans are implemented and updated
• Safely administer, order and record medication per policy and regulation
• Monitor residents' wellbeing and escalate concerns with accurate records
• Liaise with healthcare professionals and on-call team to ensure continuity of care
• Provide supervision and development to Senior/Junior Care staff and promote best practice
• Support induction and coaching of new staff, fostering a positive working environment
• Complete delegated audits, quality checks, supervisions and other management duties
• Support residents' emotional and social needs and encourage meaningful engagement
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with health and safety and safeguarding regulations
• Provide hands-on care and practical support during the night
• Undertake other duties as directed by the General Manager
