Job summary

Abbots Care in Hertfordshire is seeking a Night Complex Care Assistant to support a gentleman with a C3 spinal injury at his home in Buntingford. This waking night role runs 8pm–8am, with alternate weekends, and pays £16 per hour.

You will provide personal, catheter and bowel care, stay alert through the night, and work with a small, dedicated team. Full specialist training, ongoing clinical support, and an induction are provided.

Qualifications

• Experienced within care, with complex care or spinal injury experience desirable
• Calm and confident, particularly when responding to situations overnight
• Reliable - consistency is incredibly important within this package
• Observant and able to recognize changes or concerns
• Clear communicator who can provide an effective handover to the day team

Responsibilities

• Provide waking night care and person-centred support through the night
• Support personal, catheter and bowel care as needed
• Be observant, proactive and know when to escalate
• Full specialist training and ongoing clinical support provided
• Provide effective handovers to the day team
• Work independently while coordinating with the wider team
