Job summary

Anchor is England's largest not-for-profit provider of care and housing for older people. We are seeking Night Care Assistants to join Devonshire House in Sudbury for 26 hours per week, 8 pm to 8 am.

You will deliver high-quality, person-centred care to residents living with dementia, ensuring dignity, safety and comfort throughout the night. You will perform personal care, safety checks, assist mobility, respond to calls, document care, and follow safeguarding and infection-control policies.

Qualifications

• Provide compassionate care to residents during night shifts.
• Understand dementia care needs and respond with sensitivity.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness while supporting residents’ dignity.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care (toileting, dressing, hygiene) during night shifts.
• Conduct regular wellbeing and safety checks throughout the night.
• Assist mobility and repositioning following safe moving and handling procedures.
• Respond promptly to call bells and residents' requests for assistance.
• Offer reassurance and emotional support to distressed residents.
• Monitor health and wellbeing and report concerns promptly.
• Maintain accurate care records and handovers at shift start/end.
• Keep the environment clean, safe and comfortable.
• Follow safeguarding, health and safety and infection control policies.
