Key responsibilities of a Night Care Assistant:

• Night-time reassurance: Providing a calming presence for clients who may feel anxious confused or lonely during the night.
• Bedtime and morning routines: Assisting with evening winding-down (undressing washing) and helping the client start their day with dignity in the morning.
• Personal care: Supporting with bathroom visits and personal hygiene throughout the night ensuring the clients comfort and skin integrity.
• Medication support: Assisting with evening or early morning medication reminders.
• Monitoring and safety: Keeping a watchful eye on clients with specialised needs such as those living with Dementia to prevent falls and nocturnal incidents.
• Light housekeeping: During quieter moments (for waking nights) performing light housekeeping tasks to ensure the home is tidy and prepared for the clients morning.

Qualifications
