Job summary

Rochdale Borough Council’s Strategic Housing is seeking Casual Accommodation Night Workers to support vulnerable residents in accessing safe housing and related services. You will monitor the environment, provide information, and record data across systems while safeguarding residents and coordinating with partner agencies.

Role requires night shifts (10pm–8:30am), emphasis on health & safety, independent work, and teamwork. DBS check required; sponsorship not available.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with homeless people preferred.
• Enhanced DBS check required (adult workforce).
• Commitment to safeguarding and high standards of professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Be approachable with strong communication skills.
• Understand barriers faced by homeless people.
• Carry out health and safety checks and report repairs.
• Check IT systems and follow guidance/procedures.
• Maintain accurate written records and liaise with partner agencies.
• Promote safeguarding and challenge inappropriate behaviour.
• Work independently and as part of a team.

• React calmly to emergencies in the building.
