Job summary

Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Pharmacy Technician to work in the prison pharmacy service. You will provide medicines management to prisoners under the supervision of a prison service pharmacist, dispense prescriptions, stock items and supervise dispensary assistants to ensure safe, effective care.

You will undertake stock control, review expiry dates and storage facilities, and promote healthy lifestyles to aid rehabilitation.

Qualifications

• Qualified Pharmacy Technician with registration and good clinical knowledge.
• Ability to provide medicines management and patient advice within a prison setting.
• Strong stock control and dispensing capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide medicines management service to patients within the prison with professional support of a prison service pharmacist.
• Dispense prescriptions and stock items, supervising dispensary assistants and undertaking stock top-up duties.
• Review expiry dates and storage facilities for medicines and report deficiencies.
