East and North Hertfordshire Teaching NHS Trust is recruiting a Finance Analyst - Costing Developmental Post in Stevenage to develop specialist financial, analytical and technical skills.

Open to someone who has completed an AAT qualification or is studying for CCAB/CIMA, with NHS costing experience or strong analytical capability and a desire to learn.

You will join a small team, work with SL R, PLICs, data analysis and reporting, and have a clear pathway toward Band 6.

Competenze

• Completed AAT Technician Stage or be part way through studying for a CCAB/CIMA qualification
• CCAB qualified (Desirable)
• Degree or equivalent (Desirable)
• Experience working in NHS financial management or costing
• Experience working with and analysing large complex datasets
• Familiar with presenting complex information to a range of stakeholders, including non-finance professionals
• Experience working with acute provider NHS costing data; service line reporting (SLR) and/or patient level information & cost systems (PLICs)
• Experience of using SQL Server management studio
• Experience of building and maintaining reports in Power BI
• IT literate & proficient in Microsoft packages including Excel, Word and advanced keyboard skills
• Ability to apply knowledge to workload and demonstrate analytical skills
• Advanced Excel skills (Desirable)
• Good SQL query writing skills (Desirable)
• Understanding of accounting procedures, financial systems and general ledger
• Understanding of NHS finance regime and environment
• Knowledge of NHS costing standards and principles
• Understanding of NHS SUS & HES activity reporting

Mansioni

• Gain practical experience in NHS costing, Service Line Reporting (SLR), Patient Level Information and Costing Systems (PLICs), data analysis, financial reporting, income and activity recording
• Develop technical skills in Excel, SQL and Power BI
• Support preparation, analysis and presentation of the Trust’s Service Line Reporting and Patient Level Costing information
• Contribute to improvements in costing methodologies, reporting requirements and identify productivity opportunities
• Collect, validate and analyse complex financial and activity data, identify data quality issues
• Progress towards an independent Finance Analyst role within the Trust
