Job summary

The Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust is offering a development post in its Finance Directorate. You will join the Costing Team to support the production of costing information for national returns and internal decision making.

You will help develop workflows, ensure data quality, and assist in analysing financial and activity information using costing software, while studying toward the AAT qualification.

Qualifications

• GCSEs including English and Maths required.
• Willing to study towards AAT while in role.
• Good communication and data handling skills desirable.

Responsibilities

Job description

This is a development post within the Finance Directorate. The postholder will work in the Costing department supporting the production of valuable costing information for national returns and internal decision making.

The postholder will assist in the development of workflows and data quality to ensure source data is accurate, complete, timely and fit for purpose.

The postholder will assist in the analysis of financial and activity information and the data entry within the Group's costing software.

To provide regular analyses to the costing practitioners and develop an understanding of cost allocations and activity specific to the individual specialties within the Trust.

Prepare finance and activity reconciliations - using the finance ledger, the activity monitoring reports and the costing software.

To analyse financial and activity data using various computerised systems.

Working strictly to guidelines, policies, and the Standing Financial Instructions

Support Senior Finance Officers as and when required

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, well-motivated individual to join our Costing Team.

The appointment will provide an exciting opportunity to gain valuable work experience within the NHS whilst studying towards a nationally recognised qualification; Association of Accounting Technicians -AAT.

Individuals will be supported and developed in the role, learning new skills, whilst supported in undertaking studies.What we are looking for:High calibre, motivated individuals, interested in working in a costing role within the NHS. You must be flexible, a good team worker, able to work independently with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A good standard of GCSE education which must include English and Maths. You must also be IT literate with a good working knowledge of MS office applications. You will also need to be able to demonstrate that you are committed to completing an apprenticeship and working within the Finance Directorate.
