Job summary

Huawei Research and Development UK Limited in Cambridge seeks a Senior Principal CPU Architect to lead the definition and co-design of next-generation CPU architectures. You will own ISA extensions, drive microarchitectural innovations, and model architectures with cycle-accurate simulators.

The role requires deep expertise in OoO execution and memory hierarchies, strong profiling skills, and collaboration with compiler teams to accelerate hardware and software co-design.

Qualifications

• Experience in high‑performance CPU core development.
• Expertise in OoO execution, branch prediction, cache hierarchies and coherency.
• Strong understanding of ISA-level designs and memory models.

Responsibilities

• Long-Range Architecture Roadmap for N+1 and N+2.
• ISA Definition & Evolution for future compute frameworks.
• Performance analysis of next-gen workloads and bottlenecks.
• Hardware/Software Co-Design with compiler and OS teams.
• Cycle-accurate modeling using C++/Python to validate concepts.
• Lead technically and influence international microarchitecture standards.
