Job summary

Huawei Research and Development UK Limited in Cambridge seeks a leader to guide a sub-technical direction of AI Processor Software & Hardware Co-design Lab. You will identify key root technologies related to NPU chips and develop evolution roadmaps to promote and implement strategies that strengthen Huawei's competitive edge in computing.

The role requires integrating multiple sub-domains—algorithms, frameworks, runtimes, modelling, simulation, and compilers—across processors, to build

Qualifications

  • Rich experience optimizing AI chip architectures and AI systems across applications, software, and hardware.
  • Hands-on experience in one of: Numerical Calculation, Compilation, Algorithm & chip co-design, Runtime, Shared Memory.
  • Knowledge of AI industry application scenarios and trends to extract chip-layer requirements.
  • Proficiency in identifying bottlenecks for NLP and large models to drive software architecture evolution.

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for one sub-technical direction of AI Processor Software & Hardware Co-design Lab; identify key root technologies for NPU chips; develop evolution roadmaps and promote strategies to enhance competitiveness.
  • Carry out tech and business innovation; integrate sub-domains from algorithms, frameworks, runtime, modelling and simulation, and compilers; build end-to-end architecture competitiveness.
  • Grasp AI industry trends; develop key architectures for AI software and hardware; resolve usability and performance issues in full-stack AI through projects.
