A fantastic position has become available in the Early Intervention in psychosis service for a Band 5 Newly qualified social worker.
We are expanding the well-established Countywide Early Intervention in Psychosis service, which provides focused community support for individuals experiencing a first episode of psychosis within Bedfordshire & Luton. The team works across CAMH and Adult Mental Health Services, with an age range starting at 14 years. We are seeking skilled and motivated mental health social workers for our North and South Bedfordshire teams.
ELFT and local borough councils offer training opportunities to support Social Workers in maintaining their registration with Social Work England. The role offers a pathway towards completing Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) training.
Additional training in Behavioural Family Therapy, CAARMs Assessment tool, and psychosocial interventions is available. The team also holds monthly development days to support ongoing professional growth.

This position is suitable for a newly qualified (or soon to be qualified) registered social worker participating in an ASYE (Assessed and Supported Year in Employment) program. Under the guidance of a senior social worker, you will develop core competencies necessary for a mental health social worker.
The post involves managing a caseload with oversight from a senior mental health practitioner, delivering packages of care under CPA, and applying knowledge of risk management and psychosis. You will undertake statutory duties under the Care Act 2014, including assessments of need and safeguarding, within the principles of personalisation. The role emphasizes holistic, asset-based, and creative solutions to support service users and their families.
You must hold a full UK driving license and have access to a car for work purposes.
