Job summary

East of England Community Health and Care NHS Trust in Luton is recruiting for a Newborn Hearing Screening post based in Luton and Dunstable Hospital. The post holder will screen babies, work under the NHSP Manager, and may visit community clinics and homes.

Qualifications

• NVQ level 3 Diploma to be achieved within 2 years of recruitment.
• Basic IT Skills are required.
• Data input and e-referrals will be part of duties.

Responsibilities

• Screen babies in maternity, NNU, outpatient clinics and at home visits as required.
• Work weekends on a rotational basis (approximately 1:3 weekends).
• Travel to other venues to set up NHSP screening in clinics and home visits.
• Organise and prioritise workload to cover postnatal wards, SCBU and community clinics.
• Record results in red books and Smart 4 Hearing; maintain confidential records.
• Report concerns about mother/baby wellbeing and provide handover as needed.
