The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust is seeking a Newborn Hearing Screener to deliver high-quality newborn hearing screening in hospital and community settings. You will work within a multidisciplinary team, ensure timely screening, and provide clear information to parents while maintaining accurate records.

Ideal candidates will have GCSEs English and Maths, strong communication skills, attention to detail, and experience in healthcare or with babies and families.

Qualificações

• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate data entry skills.
• Experience working with babies, children, families, or within a healthcare setting (desirable).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Competence in using IT systems and electronic patient records.

Responsabilidades

• Perform newborn hearing screening tests using approved screening equipment and protocols.
• Communicate effectively with parents and carers, providing information and reassurance throughout the screening process.
• Maintain accurate and timely records on relevant IT systems and databases.
• Refer babies for further assessment in accordance with NHSP guidelines where required.
• Ensure screening equipment is maintained, cleaned, and quality checked as required.
• Work collaboratively with midwives, maternity staff, audiology services, health visitors, and other healthcare professionals.
• Prioritise workload to meet programme targets and performance standards.
• Adhere to infection prevention and control procedures, information governance requirements, and safeguarding policies.
• Participate in training, competency assessments, audits, and continuous service improvement activities.
