The role

As an Account Manager focused on Business Development and Marketing, you will play a critical role in supporting the agency’s growth by managing day-to-day business development and marketing activities. You’ll be responsible for cultivating relationships, coordinating proposals, and executing marketing initiatives, all while collaborating closely with senior team members. This role is ideal for someone with prior experience in business development or marketing who is ready to take on more ownership and responsibility.

We're looking for someone who is:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Development Support: Assist in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, including researching potential clients, industries, and trends.
  • Proposal Coordination and knowledge management: Manage the creation of client proposals and presentations, ensuring materials are well-organised, visually appealing, and aligned with client needs.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain relationships with prospective clients and partners, acting as a point of contact for follow-ups and inquiries.
  • Marketing Execution: Contribute to the execution of Burson marketing campaigns, including drafting content for social media, newsletters, and thought leadership pieces.
  • Event Coordination: Help plan and execute events, webinars, and networking opportunities to promote the Burson brand and engage prospects.
  • Strategic Input: Collaborate with senior team members to develop strategic plans for business development and marketing initiatives. Monitor industry trends and competitors to identify opportunities for growth and innovation.
  • Administrative Oversight: Ensure smooth coordination of internal processes, such as tracking project timelines, maintaining databases, and preparing reports.
YOU’LL BRING ALONG WITH YOU
  • 3–5 years of experience in business development, marketing, account management, or a related field.
  • A solid understanding of the communications, marketing, or PR landscape.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft persuasive messaging.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel); familiarity with CRM platforms or design tools like Canva is a plus.
  • Experience managing projects or campaigns independently.
  • A proactive attitude and eagerness to contribute ideas and solutions.
OUR LONDON OFFICE

Burson employs over 450 people in the UK, and our stunning Southwark offices run over two floors as part of the larger WPP Campus, Rose Court. We have access to a beautiful roof terrace with panoramic views across London and a bar/restaurant area, which is a great spot for client meetings and socialising with the wider agency and other WPP offices.
