Job summary

King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting for a Neurosurgery Apprentice to support the Neurosurgery team with essential administrative tasks and patient care delivery. The role integrates hands-on experience in NHS administration within a multidisciplinary setting.

You will gain structured learning with mentorship from senior clinical staff, training on EPIC, Sectra, IEP, eRS, and Excel, and opportunities to develop a career in healthcare administration.

Qualifications

• Maths and English grades A-C or equivalent.
• Excellent word-processing and spreadsheet skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient admissions and ensure documentation is accurate and up to date, addressing queries.
• Work with the multidisciplinary team (MDT) to plan admissions and provide patients with necessary information.
• Manage waiting lists, admission data and bookings to ensure smooth clinic operations.
• Support MDT meetings by preparing materials, maintaining records and following up on treatment plans and appointments.
• Assist with general outpatient clinic bookings and ensure accurate scheduling and communication with patients and staff.
• Use EPIC to book admissions for surgery, outpatient appointments and arrange MDT meetings.
