University of Cambridge invites applications for a postdoctoral research associate in the lab of Dr Jasper Poort, within the Department of Physiology, Development and Neuroscience. The project will explore neural mechanisms of visual decision-making, learning and attention using electrophysiology and optogenetics in mice.

The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary team, have expertise in chronic extracellular electrophysiology, mouse behavior, and advanced data analysis

Qualifications

• PhD completion or near submission in neuroscience, biology, or related field.
• Experience with chronic extracellular electrophysiology in mice.
• Strong data analysis skills in Matlab or Python.

Responsibilities

• Investigate neural mechanisms of visual decision-making, learning, and attention.
• Combine electrophysiology with optogenetic manipulation of neural circuits.
• Collaborate within the Poort lab to study how mice learn to perform visually-guided tasks.
