Job summary

The University of Cambridge invites applications for a post-doctoral Research Associate in Neurotechnology to work with Professor Zoe Kourtzi at the Adaptive Brain Lab. The role focuses on neuromodulation-driven brain network plasticity to support adaptive behaviour and personalized neurotechnology solutions.

You will join cross-disciplinary teams using TMS, tDCS, 7T MRI, EEG, and computational modelling to uncover neural mechanisms of learning.

Qualifications

  • PhD (or soon to be submitted) in Neuroscience, Genetics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Strong background in multimodal neuroimaging, neuromodulation techniques, cognitive studies.
  • Excellent analytical and programming skills (Matlab, Python).
  • Experience with computational modeling, machine learning, reinforcement learning, or related modelling approaches.
  • Collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for teamwork and innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to neurotechnology research investigating neuromodulation-driven brain network plasticity.
  • Work on projects combining neuromodulation (TMS, tDCS, TUS), ultra-high-field MRI, EEG, neurogenetics, and computational modelling.
  • Collaborate within an international cross-disciplinary team and translate findings into adaptive behavioural models.

A post-doctoral Research Associate position in Neurotechnology is available to work with Professor Zoe Kourtzi at the Adaptive Brain Lab, University of Cambridge, UK (http://www.abg.psychol.cam.ac.uk).

Are you passionate about uncovering the neural mechanisms that support learning for flexible behaviour and building personalized neurotechnology solutions? Join our cross-disciplinary team at the forefront of neuroscience and neurotechnology.

We are seeking a talented, dynamic Post-doctoral Researcher with expertise in multimodal neuroimaging and/or neuromodulation to contribute to an ambitious research programme investigating neuromodulation-driven brain network plasticity for adaptive behaviour.

About The Role

You will work on cutting-edge projects combining:

  • Neuromodulation approaches (TMS, tDCS, TUS)
  • Ultra-high field brain imaging (7T structural and functional MRI, MR Spectroscopy)
  • Electrophysiology (EEG)
  • Neurogenetics
  • Computational modelling (reinforcement learning, machine learning)

Our research bridges scales (local circuits to global networks) and species (humans, mice) to uncover the neurocomputations underlying learning for adaptive behaviour and building neuromodulation solutions to boost brain plasticity.
