Job summary

Brook View Neurological Centre in Worcester is seeking an Assistant Psychologist to support psychological and neuropsychological assessment and intervention for adults with acquired brain injuries and progressive neurological conditions. Working under the supervision of a Neuropsychologist and Clinical Lead, you will contribute to assessments, interventions and rehabilitation plans within a multidisciplinary team.

The role is full time (40 hours/week), with a salary of £29,531 per annum.

Qualifications

• Relevant experience as an Assistant Psychologist or in a related setting
• Understanding of neurological conditions and their impact on individuals
• Experience working with cognitive or challenging behaviour
• Knowledge or experience of psychological approaches used in individual or group settings
• Ability to apply psychological theory within a neuropsychological and rehabilitation setting
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Compassionate, professional and committed approach to supporting people to achieve their rehabilitation goals

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of psychological and neuropsychological assessment and intervention for adults with acquired brain injuries and progressive neurological conditions
• Work under the supervision of a Neuropsychologist and Clinical Lead, contributing to assessments, interventions and rehabilitation programmes
• Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to understand and manage cognitive and behavioural needs, complete risk assessments and support guideline development
• Communicate sensitive information with residents, families and colleagues and respond professionally to different needs and reactions
