Job summary

North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a substantive consultant in neurophysiology to lead outpatient and inpatient consultations, supervise neurophysiologists, and contribute to teaching and governance. The role covers multiple sites with travel across a rural area and involves service development and research where appropriate.

The post emphasises multi-disciplinary teamwork, audit, CPD, and active participation in education for trainees and staff.

Qualifications

• MRCP or equivalent required.
• Full GMC registration.
• Entry on the Specialist Register in Clinical Neurophysiology, or expected within 6 months of interview.

Responsibilities

• Provide the neurophysiology service across the trust.
• Carry out outpatient and inpatient consultations.
• Further develop clinical neurophysiology services following consultation.
• Provide professional and clinical supervision to clinical neurophysiologists.
• Take part in postgraduate medical education and clinical physiologist training, including teaching as required.
• Take part in the trust clinical governance programme.
• Take part in research where appropriate.
• Participate in management of the directorate's services.
• Run outpatient clinics across trust sites when needed.
• Contribute to the department's advice and guidance service for GPs and consultants within office hours.
