Job summary

The Dean Neurological Centre, part of Elysium Healthcare in Gloucester, seeks a Therapy Assistant to support therapists in delivering care and rehabilitation for residents with neurological or mental health conditions. You will help implement planned therapy programmes and assist service users toward greater independence.

Qualifications

• GNVQ Level 3 or willingness to undergo training.
• Experience working in a care or therapy environment.
• Complete in-service training and development programme to learn techniques for therapists.
• Understand and follow instructions accurately and learn new skills quickly.
• Maintain confidentiality and understand implications of non-compliance.

Responsibilities

• Undertake basic procedures as instructed by a qualified therapist.
• Report changes in service user condition promptly and appropriately.
• Maintain effective communication within the team and with clients.
• Ensure accurate written/computerised documentation is maintained.
• Observe, report and record sessions ensuring progress is documented.
• Assist in building rapport to support engagement and recovery.
