Job summary

The Dean Neurological Centre in Gloucester seeks a Therapy Assistant to support therapists in delivering one-to-one and group therapy and to help residents maximise independence. You will assist with planning and delivering therapeutic activities, observe sessions, and document outcomes under supervision.

Applicants should have GNVQ 3 or willingness to train, and prior care/therapy experience. Strong communication and teamwork are essential in a facility focused on neurological rehabilitation.

Qualifications

• GNVQ 3 or evidence of willingness to undergo training.
• Experience working in a care and/or therapy environment.
• Ability to complete in-service training and learn techniques to support therapists.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; interpersonal skills.
• Understand confidentiality and its implications.

Responsibilities

• Undertake basic procedures as instructed by a qualified therapist, respecting privacy and beliefs.
• Report changes in service user condition promptly.
• Maintain effective communication within the team and with clients.
• Ensure written/computerised documentation is accurate and complete.
• Observe and record sessions and adjust plans under supervision.
• Attend in-service training to learn techniques for supporting therapists.
