Job summary

Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Neurodevelopmental Practitioner (Band 6) to join our Neurodevelopmental Assessment Team in Cornwall. This full-time role offers the chance to provide specialist neurodevelopmental assessments for children and young people exploring ASC, ADHD, or related conditions, within a supportive multidisciplinary setting.

Qualifications

• Professional qualification with accreditation such as Qualified Teacher status or HCPC/NMC registration.
• Degree-level training with evidence of neurodevelopmental disorders and development.
• Evidence of ongoing professional development and specialist training in neurodevelopmental conditions.
• Direct clinical experience with autism, ADHD, and other neurodevelopmental conditions in children and young people.
• Trained to use the ADOS.
• Experience working with multi-disciplinary and multi-agency teams.

Responsibilities

• Deliver autism and ADHD assessments for children and young people with complex presentations.
• Provide high-quality neurodevelopmental diagnostic assessments, formulation and advice.
• Develop and deliver short-term interventions for children, young people and families.
• Provide consultation, advice and training to parents, carers, schools, health colleagues, social care teams and voluntary sector organisations.
• Promote a neurodiversity-affirming approach across the wider professional network.
• Collaborate with professional leads and colleagues to develop and improve the neurodevelopmental service.
• Contribute to clinical governance, quality improvement initiatives and service development activities within the Neurodevelopmental Assessment Team.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and uphold professional and organisational standards.

Education
