Job summary

A leading company is seeking a Test Analyst to support the transition of Critical National Infrastructure network connectivity. The role requires practical skills in network testing and an understanding of infrastructure design. Candidates should be based in the UK and may need SC clearance.

Qualifications

• Experience with SC clearance or ability to gain it.
• Experience working on the National Grid is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Create test scripts from Test Plans / Low Level Designs for Network infrastructure.
• Understand Test phases purposes: Unit, System Integration, Functional, Non-Functional, Disaster recovery, Operation Acceptance.
• Import test cases to ALM and link to requirements.

Skills

Cisco Switch / Router console commands

Handling Fibre optic cables

Understanding of Data Centre operating procedures

Deliverables – required for Scope of Work (SoW) and to measure role fulfillment.

Describe measurable activities and the stages at which they are required:

1. Create test scripts from Test Plans / Low Level Designs for Network infrastructure (Routers / switches / firewalls)
2. Understand Test phases purposes: Unit, System Integration, Functional, Non-Functional, Disaster recovery, Operation Acceptance
3. Import test cases to ALM and link to requirements

Practical skills required:

• Cisco Switch / Router console commands
• Handling Fibre optic cables
• Understanding of Data Centre operating procedures
• Set up network test equipment for RFC 2544 testing
• Network and Service Management tool set (e.g., StableNet)

Knowledge:

• Interpret Network infrastructure design from High-Level Design (HLD)/Low-Level Design (LLD)

Overview

The Test Analyst role must be based in the UK and can start to gain SC clearance or already have SC clearance. The role supports a Programme in the transition & transformation of Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) network connectivity. Experience working on the National Grid is advantageous but not essential.

Duration: Expected full-time, but due to potential small breaks, flexibility is required to pause the resource effort with prior notice.
