Network Technician (EL521)

Salary: £26,592 - £29,838 per annum • Contract Type: Permanent • Hours: 37 per week • Location: Ellesmere Port Campus.

We are looking for a Network Technician to support both proactive and reactive technical work at our campus, ensuring efficient operation of large‑scale projects and daily technical support for colleagues.

Technical and Personal Skills
  • Install, maintain and repair IT systems, hardware, peripherals and software.
  • Troubleshoot and implement solutions for persistent or potential issues.
  • Conduct successful inventory audits of equipment and software.
  • Prioritise effectively and communicate positively.
  • Apply attention to detail and a keen eye for accuracy.
  • Background in an IT‑based qualification and previous customer service experience, with an understanding of working in education.
Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair IT systems and equipment to ensure they function effectively, in line with agreed service standards.
  • Install IT equipment and software to meet user needs.
  • Identify persistent and potential problems and suggest and implement solutions.
  • Assist with inventory audits of equipment and software.
  • Assist in developing and providing technical support for the technology infrastructure for both voice and data.
  • Promote the welfare of children and young people.
Key Person Specification Requirements
  • GCSE Grade C (4/5) or above in English and Maths (or equivalent).
  • Understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion in work and the learning environment.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Appropriate level of digital literacy.
  • Enhanced DBS check.
