Job summary

H&T Group Ltd in Sutton is seeking an experienced Network & Systems Engineer to lead network and infrastructure engineering for UK operations. You will ensure availability, security, and performance of network and server environments, supporting stores and business processes while collaborating with the international IT team.

The role requires strong expertise in enterprise networking, Windows server technologies, and security, with a focus on governance and continuous improvement in a hybrid

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a Network and Infra Engineering role.
• Experience designing and supporting enterprise LAN/WAN/WLAN/VPN environments.
• Strong knowledge of OSPF, BGP, DNS, DHCP.
• Hands-on with Windows Server, Hyper-V and Active Directory.
• Experience with security, firewalls and vulnerability remediation.
• ITIL-based service management experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and support LAN, WAN, WLAN and VPN solutions across the UK estate.
• Act as UK technical lead for network infrastructure and complex connectivity issues.
• Administer and maintain Windows Server, Hyper-V and Active Directory environments.
• Ensure network/server security through patching, vulnerability management and firewall administration.
• Support retail and POS platforms and collaborations with UK/US teams.
• Lead investigations, root cause analysis and disaster recovery planning.
• Maintain network diagrams and procedures.
• Support FCA, GDPR, PCI-DSS and SOX controls.

We're looking for an experienced Network & Systems Engineer to join our IT team at H&T. This is an exciting opportunity to take the lead on network and infrastructure engineering across our UK operations while working as part of One FirstCash IT, a collaborative international team supporting colleagues across the UK and US.

You'll play a key role in maintaining the availability, security and performance of our network and server environments, ensuring our stores and support functions remain connected and supported. What You'll Be Doing

• Design, implement and support LAN, WAN, WLAN and VPN solutions across our UK estate.

• Maintain technical documentation, network diagrams and operational procedures.
• Support regulatory and compliance requirements including FCA, GDPR, PCI-DSS and SOX controls.

What We're Looking For

Essential

• 5+ years' experience in a Network and Infrastructure Engineering role.
• Strong experience designing and supporting enterprise LAN, WAN, WLAN and VPN environments.
• Excellent knowledge of networking technologies and protocols including OSPF, BGP, DNS and DHCP.
• Hands-on experience with Windows Server, Hyper-V and Active Directory.
• Experience managing network security, firewalls and vulnerability remediation.
• Experience working within highly regulated environments and ITIL-based service management frameworks.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively across geographically dispersed teams.

Desirable

• Experience with BIG-IP LTM, ASM, GTM/DNS and BIG-IQ.
• Networking certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CCIE or Fortinet certifications.
• Experience with Cisco, Fortinet and Palo Alto technologies.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365 and Entra ID.
• PowerShell or Python scripting experience.
• Knowledge of backup, storage and monitoring technologies.
• ITIL or ISO 27001 certifications.
• Experience within retail, financial services or other multi-site environments.
