BT Group is seeking a Network Security Professional in Manchester to join the UK Business division. The role requires SC clearance and sole UK national status, with a 24/7 security operations focus and change governance responsibility.

You will own major incidents, provide technical leadership, and work within ITIL-aligned processes to ensure high-quality outcomes across a 24/7 environment.

Qualifications

• Industry-recognised security certifications or equivalent experience.
• Experience handling critical P1/P2 incidents and driving resolution.
• Strong multi-vendor and multi-customer environment skills.
• Ability to communicate security concepts to varied audiences.

Responsabilités

• Provide technical support across Network Security Operations from a 2nd Line position.
• Own critical security incidents (P1/P2), guiding resolution and communications.
• Lead change governance, risk assessments, and adherence to ITIL practices.
• Promote best practices across security operations and continuous improvement.

About the role

This role is critical to the successful delivery and support of customer security services, combining technical support, operational responsibility, incident ownership, and change governance to ensure high-quality outcomes across a 24/7 environment.

Please note the role holder must be able to aquire SC government clearance and be a sole UK National Passport holder.

What you’ll be doing

• Provide technical support across Network Security Operations, acting as a key decision-maker within the team and supporting delivery from a 2rd Line position.
• Take ownership of critical (P1/P2) security incidents, providing technical leadership during high-priority outages or security events, driving resolution, stakeholder communication, and service restoration.
• Own and support change management activities, ensuring all changes are risk-assessed, peer-reviewed, implemented to a high standard, and aligned with governance and customer expectations
• Lead and promote best practice across ITIL frameworks, ensuring effective service delivery, incident management, and continuous improvement.

• Industry-recognised security certifications (or equivalent experience), such as:
• Palo Alto PCNSE
• Palo Alto Firewalls
• F5 Load Balancers & Web Application Firewall (WAF)
• Forescout NAC
• Netskope
• Supporting critical (P1/P2) incidents, driving technical resolution under pressure
• Maintaining service stability across multi-customer, multi-vendor environments
• Strong relationship-building skills across multiple teams and stakeholders
