Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Network Service Technician to join our team at Thames Water. This is a customer-facing role focused on resolving network challenges to ensure minimal disruption to supply.

Network Service Technicians support Wholesale project work and leakage activities.

What you will be doing

1. Operating the mains network, controlling burst mains, and ensuring isolation for repairs and maintenance.
2. Handling customer issues, responding to queries and complaints, and resolving problems.
3. Ensuring water quality compliance during repairs.
4. Acting as a local network expert for isolation, rezoning, and sharing safety information.
5. Investigating the water network for issues like pressure problems, leakage, and loss of supply.
6. Following company procedures, including safety and streetworks legislation.

Location & Working Pattern

Base Location: Godalming - Guildford - GU7 1UP, covering Thames Valley area.

Hours: 38 per week, with late shifts and standby rota every 8 weeks.

Requirements

• A clean UK driving license and willingness to travel between jobs.

What you should bring

• Customer service experience in a dynamic environment.
• Driving license and willingness to drive daily.
• Experience in plumbing or water mains is advantageous but not essential, full training provided.
• Qualifications like NVQ Level 2, City & Guilds, GCSE, or equivalent are desirable.
• IT skills for communication via portable devices.
• Excellent customer service, time management, and a positive attitude.
